Laverne Herrera-Hay
VP of Research

Laverne is an industry veteran with over 10 years of research in the Executive Search industry. She leads our Research team based out in Denver, Colorado. Her high energy and professional demeanor allow her to quickly build rapport, confidence, and the respect of both clients and candidates. Laverne has a reputation for providing quality candidates and excellence from her team.

Prior to TriWorth, Laverne oversaw research/recruiting operations for Integrated People Solutions (IPS), a retained search firm and the middle management arm of Slayton Partners. As one of the original members to join the IPS team, Laverne played an integral role in building the practice and recruiting the internal staff for IPS. Laverne’s recruiting experience has allowed her to develop an in-depth knowledge and national perspective across industry verticals. She has served clients in several industries with a primary focus in the technology, industrial, automotive and manufacturing industries. She has conducted mid and executive level assignments across all functional areas. Functional areas include general management, human resources, sales and marketing, IT and six-sigma.

Laverne has handled several international searches for clients in Puerto Rico and Spain. Her bilingual abilities in Spanish and English have allowed her to add a unique dimension to her service offering. Laverne earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of New Mexico. She resides in Denver with her husband and daughter.

Kevin Armstrong
Director of Research

Kevin is Director of Research for our Denver based Research Hub. The ultimate team player, Kevin is integral to many of our key clients and has the ability to guide difficult searches to closure. He currently leads the execution of senior level single searches and is involved with RPO projects. His search experience focuses on serving clients in the high technology, professional services outsourcing, energy, manufacturing, and financial services.

Kevin is a graduate of University of Colorado with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Accounting.

Lana Johnson
Director of Marketing and PR

Lana Johnson heads up all of our marketing, public relations and brand management initiatives. Possessing 15 years of executive leadership in the recruitment industry combined with her marketing experience and exceptional writing skills, she is a natural in her role. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, Lana was in sales for Case Corporation for 5 years before joining Advanced Resources. Lana is very involved in the staffing industry as she was President of the Illinois Staffing Association for 3 years and spent 5 years on the Board of Directors for the American Staffing Association. She is the proud mother of three and plays an active role in her community.

Kim Marzano
Director of Human Resources

Kim is our Director of Human Resources with over 20 years of progressive leadership experience and broad exposure to all aspects of human resource management. She has a passion for recruiting, training, employee engagement and performance management and oversees the implementation of corporate Human Resource strategy. Kim graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. Kim is a member of SHRM, HRMAC, HRA and holds a Certified Personnel Consultant, Certified Temporary Specialist and Professional in Human Resources designations, and is a Certified Trainer in Developing Capable People by Capabilities, Inc.

Nelly Gamino
Controller

Nelly is our Controller bringing over 16 years of experience. She began career at the Chicago Tribune Newspaper as a classified ads designer while in college. She then moved to the accounting department where she worked her way up to Financial Reporting supervisor. In 2001, Nelly joined the Tribune Company's systems department as Business Analyst, working on Tribune's system conversion and developing all the financial reports for the various Tribune businesses such as LA Times, Chicago Cubs, Newsday, WGN TV and more. Nelly joined The Advanced Group in May 2007, as process improvement consultant and became Controller in August 2007. She holds an accounting degree from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
